The Batman: Part II Unveils New Logo As Filming Continues

After a long wait, filming has finally started on The Batman: Part II. Amid production, the official logo for the anticipated sequel has also been officially unveiled.

The new logo has been added to the social media channels for The Batman. With the DC Studios branding at the top, the logo includes the sequel’s full title in red writing with the Dark Knight’s familiar bat-symbol featured within. This is reminsicent of the logo for the 2022 original, but updated with the “Part II” and “DC Studios” imagery. Take a peek at how it looks below.

While cameras are now rolling on the sequel, the wait for fans to see it on the big screen is still going to take quite a while longer. The Batman: Part II is not set to debut until Fall 2027, marking a wait of five years since the original was released. Producer James Gunn has said in the past that the wait was due to giving director Matt Reeves enough time to pen a satisfactory script with co-writer Mattson Tomlin. It wasn’t until a screenplay that everyone was happy with was finally finished before production was able to move forward.

“The only reason for the delay is there isn’t a full script (those of you who follow me here probably know that already),” Gunn told his fans in a Threads post in 2024 when asked about the wait. “Matt is committed to making the best film he possibly can, and no one can accurately guess exactly how long a script will take to write. Once there is a finished script, there is around two years for pre-production, shooting and post-production on big films.”

Robert Pattinson Is Back as the Dark Knight

Of course, Robert Pattinson will be back as Bruce Wayne in The Batman: Part II. He will not be the only familiar star, as he’ll be joined by fellow returning actors Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin. There are rumors that Barry Keoghan will also make an appearance as the Joker after his brief scene in the first film, though this has not been officially confirmed.

Newcomers to the cast include Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Charles Dance, and Brian Tyree Henry. There have been some conflicting reports about whom these actors will portray. It had been expected that Stan had been cast as Harvey Dent, the district attorney of Gotham who transforms into the sinister supervillain Two-Face. However, another recent report claims that Stan will actually play Victor Zsasz, with Henry stepping into the role of Harvey Dent.

The Batman: Part II will be released in movie theaters on Oct. 1, 2027.
