Steam Makes 8 New Games Completely Free Forever, No Strings Attached

Eight new games have just arrived on Steam, and they’re completely free to claim and keep forever, no strings attached. Free titles are always arriving on the gaming platform, and you may often be overwhelmed by the possibilities, even though several of them may fly under your radar. Earlier this month, four new free games arrived on Steam, offering players brand-new gameplay possibilities, some of which look particularly exciting. That list is ever-expanding, and now, there are several other titles up for grabs.

Several of these games were added over the course of the past few days. Some of them were highlighted in a post made on the Free Steam Games account on X. We’ve selected a batch of eight different games for you to check out, leaving behind titles that declare the usage of AI for development and highlighting what may be your next big obsession. These titles come in all shapes and sizes, and some may better fit your preferences than others, but the options are there.

Gameplay in Robosynthesis shows a robot running on a metal platform over water.

The eight free games aren’t rated as high as the new 10/10 freebie on Steam, Control, I’m Not Coming Back, as most of them lack more reviews to compute a score. One of the new free games is called Robosynthesis, a 3D action-adventure platformer with classic PS2-era vibes. Magic Dodgeball: Homeless Edition and HAM TANK! are both top-down shooters, should you enjoy the genre.

The list below showcases all eight of the free games, with links to their respective product pages on Steam:

Iris Odyssey is a story-driven visual novel freebie on Steam that takes place in Shibuya, Japan. Against the Godds, on the other hand, is a turn-based strategy roguelike game. If you’re looking for something scarier, ABOVE is a first-person psychological horror exploration title. RETURN Machine.Love() is also a visual novel that may be worth checking out for free. Lastly, Old But Gold is a quirky action-based 3D platformer that looks fun and relaxing.

These games don’t state that AI was used for gameplay assets – though Old But Gold does highlight that the tool was used solely for cinematic sequences. There’s a nice variety of genres to choose from, depending on what you prefer, and you could potentially grab all of them and have them listed in your library forever. If you want something different, you may want to check out a free new RPG on Steam, as this genre is missing from the batch of eight freebies.

Of course, these are only a few of the many free titles that arrive on the platform every week. You can keep up with the new additions via the storefront itself or check out our regular filtered coverage of free games to grab on Steam and keep forever.
