Spider-Man Spotted Filming at Major Location Just 2 Months Before Brand New Day

Spider-Man: Brand New Day may be swinging its way into theaters on July 31, but that isn’t stopping Marvel from getting some brand-new shots of Spidey in action. Fans caught some filming happening recently and are wondering if it might be proof that Holland’s Peter Parker will actually appear in Avengers: Doomsday.

In a post shared on Reddit, Spider-Man was seen filming something in the Wembley area, and considering just how close Brand New Day is to being released in theaters, many fans were speculating that this might actually be intended for Avengers: Doomsday — with Tom Holland notably absent from Marvel’s confirmed cast listing so far. It remains to be seen if Spidey will join forces with the rest of Marvel’s heroes in the film, especially considering there were intense negotiations between Sony and Marvel to try and have him appear outside the Spider-Man films for Doomsday.

New Spider-Man Filming Leaves Fans Curious As Brand New Day Approaches

It’s worth noting that in the photo from the set, Spider-Man appears to actually be a stunt double and not Tom Holland himself. With this in mind, the filming actually could be for Brand New Day, whether it’s a post-credits scene or just getting some reshoots that didn’t necessarily need Holland’s face or acting to be on set to capture. For now, nothing has been confirmed about why Spider-Man was filming nor what project it’s for.

Still, fans on Reddit were eager to dissect the photo and make their own conclusion. “It will probably just be a minor reshoot,” one fan wrote, while others wondered if it could be for a commercial or promo for the film. “Pretty sure that’s a Russo directed post-credit like they did with Thunderbolts and F4 a few weeks before release,” another fan hypothesized.

It will be many more months before fans actually get to see if Tom Holland’s Spider-Man does make an appearance in Doomsday, but the wait won’t be nearly as long to watch Brand New Day. In the new Spidey flick, Peter Parker anonymously works to protect New York City, all while investigating a powerful new threat. To top it all off, his superpowers undergo a strange and surprising evolution.

Brand New Day takes place four years after Dr. Strange’s spell at the end of No Way Home, which left the world forgetting Peter Parker’s identity — even his closest friends. While some fans have wondered if Brand New Day could be paving the way for new Spider-Man characters and love interests, both Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are confirmed to appear in the upcoming movie, reprising their roles as MJ Watson and Ned Leeds respectively.

Tom Holland’s Spidey Might Actually Be In Secret Wars — Not Doomsday

Although some fans were wondering if Spider-Man might be shooting for Doomsday, others had an idea that could actually be a lot more plausible. Filming for Doomsday wrapped last year, although reshoots were already teased, but its follow-up film, Avengers: Secret Wars, was scheduled to begin in mid-2026.

This narrow window between Brand New Day’s arrival and Secret Wars production beginning could give Marvel the perfect opportunity to hide Spider-Man’s involvement in the new Avengers saga without obvious spoilers. It certainly seems too late to be for Brand New Day or even Doomsday, but in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, anything’s possible.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day heads to theaters on July 31, 2026. Avengers: Doomsday follows on Dec. 18, and Secret Wars is scheduled for Dec. 17, 2027.
