One Piece‘s very own Soul King is about to be able to grace the homes of fans and collectors courtesy of a stunning new sculpture.
Per Toy People, fan-favorite Chinese sculpture studio and manufacturer Jimei Palace has officially unveiled their next awe-striking limited-edition One Piece statue. The Straw Hat Crew Series Vol. 2 Soul King Brook statue is slated to arrive sometime between April and June of next year and is limited to just 360 pieces worldwide, with a pre-order price of just under $1,400.
Jimei Palace’s Straw Hat Crew Series Vol. 2 Soul King Brook Might Be the Coolest One Piece Collectible
Standing at a whopping 27 inches tall, the Straw Hat Crew Series Vol. 2 Soul King Brook statue offers a stunning recreation of the iconic One Piece character, who just so happens to be wielding all of his incredible power against a small army of admittedly diminutive Chess Soldiers. The statue also features LED lighting, which can be cycled through steady and dynamic slash modes for added impact.
Astute fans will notice that the Straw Hat Crew Series Vol. 2 Soul King Brook statue specifically recreates a battle from episode 814 of the One Piece anime, “Shout of the Soul – Brook and Pedro’s Lightning Operation,” during which Brook infiltrates Big Mom’s treasure room. Unsurprisingly, what Brook finds is more than riches, leaving him to stave off an onslaught of Chess Soldiers single-handedly.
Brook is by far one of the most instantly recognizable characters from One Piece, not to mention one of the Straw Hat Pirates’ greatest assets. When Brook made his One Piece debut in chapter 442 of Eiichiro Oda’s original manga, he was already in his skeleton state, which came courtesy of the Yomi Yomi no Mi Devil-Fruit, which afforded him the spiritual fortitude to return to his body after death.
Despite his physical form having already wasted away, Brook had no problem reanimating his skeleton and continuing on with his journey. Shortly after crossing paths with the likes of Monkey D. Luffy and Rororonoa Zoro, Brook joined the Straw Hat Pirates as the ninth member of the crew.
A capable fighter and musician alike, Brook has often served as something akin to the unbeating heart of the Straw Hats. He has also proven time and again that his immense spiritual power is an invaluable asset in its own right. All of this, coupled with his immensely likable demeanor, helped cement Brook’s place in the wider One Piece franchise and even helped secure him an early appearance in the live-action series.
In the second season of Netflix’s live-action streaming adaptation of the series, One Piece: Into the Grand Line, audiences got the chance to meet Brook far earlier than they probably should have. Rather than having to wait to meet Brook as a skeleton, the Straw Hats got to meet Brook in his human form as portrayed by Martial T. Batchamen. Brook even played a key role in Laboon’s story, being one of the Rumbar Pirates whom the overtly intelligent whale was longing for the return of.
The Straw Hat Crew Series Vol. 2 Soul King Brook statue from Jimei Palace is available for pre-order now.
