The wait for Star Wars Zero Company is almost over, and the hotly anticipated new game should be arriving in just a matter of months. Star Wars Zero Company, the strategy game from Bit Reactor and Respawn Entertainment, has just had its release date leaked online and will be arriving on August 27.
This news comes from an industry insider, who confirms the title will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with both Standard and Deluxe Editions of the game slated to arrive in stores and on digital platforms. It was also noted that Star Wars Zero Company is likely to forego an early access period entirely.
What Is Star Wars Zero Company — And Why Does It Have Gamers So Excited?
Developed by Bit Reactor and Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts (EA), Star Wars Zero Company was first announced back in 2025 as the franchise’s first full turn-based tactics title. Set during the events of the Clone Wars, Star Wars Zero Company drops players into the role of Hawk, a former Republic officer who is tasked with forming and leading the eponymous Zero Company on missions that no one else would ever dare volunteer themselves for.
As seen in the announcement trailer for Star Wars Zero Company, players will be able to lead all manner of overtly capable figures into the fray. Among the characters seen joining Hawk in his quest are multiple Mandalorians, humanoid and droid mercenaries, and even one apparent Jedi, all of whom will surely bring something unique to the battlefield once gamers are finally able to dive into Star Wars Zero Company for themselves.
The official game description for Star Wars Zero Company from Bit Reactor reads, “Command an elite squad through a gritty and authentic story in Star Wars Zero Company, a single-player turn-based tactics game… Hawks and Zero Company are recruited for an operation that pits them against an emerging threat that will consume the galaxy if left unchecked. To succeed, Hawks will lead a team of uneasy allies who must set aside their differences to overcome nearly impossible odds.”
Although the release date for Star Wars Zero Company is still unconfirmed by EA or the developers, fans do know that it isn’t the only Star Wars game they can look forward to getting their hands on later this year. On October 6, gamers will get to return to one of the most beloved corners of the franchise with the release of Star Wars: Galactic Racer, which will serve as the long-overdue, albeit unofficial, follow-up to the 1999 classic Star Wars Episode I: Racer.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer will feature numerous gameplay experiences, ranging from solo modes to online PvP and cross-platform multiplayer for Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation gamers. The official description for Star Wars: Galactic Racer from developer Fuse Games describes the title as “A high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the lawless Outer Rim. With the Empire gone and the galaxy rebuilding, the Galactic League is created: an underground, unsanctioned circuit where syndicates bankroll chaos and champions are forged.”
