Naruto Confirms Next Major Release For 2027, And One Piece Should Be Scared

This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.

While the Naruto fandom has continually felt starved of anime content in recent years, with Boruto’s adaptation on a persistent hiatus, the franchise is still keeping its Will of Fire ablaze in more ways than one. Beyond the steady monthly release of new chapters of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, currently celebrating the Boruto manga’s 10th anniversary, the Naruto franchise has an exciting new release coming for fans worldwide. Confirmed by Bandai Namco, Naruto has a collectible trading card game coming in 2027.

With trading cards being all the rage, from Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering dominating the collecting and gaming sphere, to One Piece having a gorgeous and sought-after TCG to its name, this latest Naruto initiative appears to be one of its most ambitious. It certainly appears set to outdo the Naruto Collectible Card Game which ran from 2006-2013, especially as the latest announcement was rolled out alongside a trailer and special illustration with message from its creator, Masashi Kishimoto. According to the Naruto Card Game official website, the next update for the game will come on July 29, 2026, at 11:00 PM JST.

Naruto Has A New Trading Card Game Releasing Soon

Confirmed with a one-minute trailer from Bandai Card Games set to “Fighting Dreamers” by FLOW, the Naruto Card Game sets up a key teaser with a duel between Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha. The card set is intent on capturing the imagination of Naruto’s adoring worldwide fan base, with a sincere message from Kishimoto himself posted to the Naruto Card Game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.

“NARUTO Card Game!

The world of ‘NARUTO—Naruto—’ will expand even further. I hope these cards will reach widely into everyone’s hands and hearts.”

-Masashi Kishimoto

The new Naruto project is certainly not another anime, although there is still hope for more updates from all corners of the franchise. With its manga sequel still going strong, and plenty of material to adapt for a new Boruto anime beyond Pierrot’s currently-packed slate, there’s a plurality of ways to enjoy the franchise, with Naruto Card Game’s release in 2027 sure to get plenty of attention. Stay tuned for more updates on July 29, as well as at GenCon in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, from July 30 to August 2, 2026.
