Masters Of The Universe Cast: Every Actor In The He-Man Movie

The new Masters of the Universe movie has one of the most star-studded casts in recent memory, but who plays who in the latest toy-to-screen epic? Releasing nearly 40 years after the debut of the first live-action film in the franchise, the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie has the chance to right the wrongs of the 1987 stinker. Beginning as a toy line in the early 1980s, He-Man and his enemies and allies spawned their own cartoon to help create synergy for the products.

Decades later, Masters of the Universe is a bona fide pop culture phenomenon. The new movie comes from director Travis Knight, who previously directed the Transformers spin-off movie Bumblebee and the stop-motion animation masterpiece, Kubo and the Two Strings. With Masters of the Universe, he set out to match his previous success at lifting up a struggling franchise while also trying to tell a heartfelt story with a touch of humor.

The 2026 movie pays tongue-in-cheek homage to the original series and features an array of A-list stars in the leading roles. Masters of the Universe tells the fun story of Prince Adam as he returns home and sets out to achieve his destiny as He-Man. However, the movie’s cast needed to hit it out of the park since the movie walked a tightrope of paying off what older franchise fans wanted and delivering a movie that excited the new generation.

Nicholas Galitzine As Prince Adam Glenn/He-Man

Actor: London-born Nicholas Galitzine has a relatively small filmography, but his meteoric rise is quite impressive. After several years of supporting roles, he rocketed to stardom in 2023. He appeared as Jeff in the irreverent comedy, Bottoms, before playing Prince Henry in the wildly popular LGBTQ+ rom-com, Red, White & Royal Blue.

Character: Galitzine stars as Prince Adam Glenn, the heir to the throne of Eternia, who, with the help of the Sword of Power, can call upon the powers of Grayskull to transform into the mighty He-Man. In the movie, he starts as a timid office worker who wants to return home, and when he gets back to Eternia, he has to convince the warriors there that he is worthy of following into battle with the evil Skeletor.

Camila Mendes As Teela

Actor: Camila Mendes is instantly recognizable from her role as Veronica Lodge in over 130 episodes of The CW’s Riverdale. Masters of the Universe is Mendes’ first role in a major theatrical film, though she headlined streaming movies like Do Revenge and Upgraded.

Character: Mendes co-stars in Masters of the Universe as Teela, a powerful warrior who joins with Prince Adam as an important ally. Teela is the adoptive daughter of Man-At-Arms, a general in the service of King Randor. She was a childhood friend of Adam and one of the only kids who didn’t pick on him. She is now a strong warrior, and one of the only ones willing to stand and fight Skeletor’s armies.

Jared Leto As Skeletor

Actor: Jared Leto began his career on TV and gained notoriety for playing Jordan Catalano on the cult classic series, My So-Called Life. Leto quickly hit the big screen in films like Fight Club, American Psycho, and Requiem for a Dream. Leto snagged an Oscar for playing Rayon in Dallas Buyers Club and recently starred as Ares in Tron: Ares.

Character: Leto plays Skeletor, the principal villain of the entire media franchise. He attacks and conquers Eternia when Prince Adam is just a child, and then takes the king and queen as his prisoners as he waits for his minions to find the Sword of Power. When Prince Adam finds the sword on Earth, Skeletor sends his minions to retrieve it, starting a new war with Adam and his new allies.

Alison Brie As Evil-Lyn

Actor: LA native Alison Brie first gained attention as Trudy Campbell on Mad Men, but exploded in popularity as Annie Edison on Community. A consistent star on both the large and small screen, she led shows like GLOW and movies like The Little Hours. In 2025, Brie starred alongside her husband, Dave Franco, in the body horror flick, Together.

Character: Brie plays the major supporting villain, Evil-Lyn, who uses her magical powers for evil in Skeletor’s cause. She is a powerful magician, and she has most of the powers that help Skeletor, while he abuses her every chance he gets. Despite this, she remains loyal to him until the end.

Idris Elba As Duncan/Man-At-Arms

Actor: Idris Elba got his start on TV in the UK. In the States, Elba played Russell “Stringer” Bell on The Wire. Playing the title role in the cop drama, Luther, made Elba a mainstay, as did his role as Heimdall in the MCU’s Thor movies. In 2025, Elba appeared in hits like Zootopia 2, and Netflix’s House of Dynamite.

Character: Elba lends his considerable talents to the role of Duncan/Man-At-Arms. He is the adoptive father of He-Man’s ally, Teela, and also one of King Randor’s most powerful generals. Man-At-Arms is known for his use of gadgetry in battle, something that often gives him a leg-up on his enemies. In Masters of the Universe, he believes he has failed the king and has fallen into alcoholism, but pulls himself up to help Prince Adam save Eternia.

James Purefoy As King Randor

Actor: A steady worker in the UK throughout the 1990s, James Purefoy first came to the attention of American audiences as Edward in A Knight’s Tale. Purefoy has found great success on the small screen in roles like Joe Carroll in The Following and Gulliver Troy in Pennyworth. Recently he played Stefan in season 4 of The Witcher on Netflix.

Character: James Purefoy appears in the supporting cast as King Randor, the leader of Eternia and father of Adam/He-Man. He shares his ruling duties with his wife, Queen Marlena. He is captured by Skeletor at the start of the movie and is held prisoner until Prince Adam returns with the Sword of Power.

Morena Baccarin As The Sorceress – Born in Brazil, Morena Baccarin quickly found success in American media when she played Inara Serra in the short-lived series, Firefly. She made sporadic appearances on TV, including in the Stargate franchise as Adria, before snagging the role of Vanessa Carlysle in the Deadpool movies. Baccarin appears in the role of The Sorceress, the guardian of Castle Greyskull. She is the one who saves Prince Adam, gives him his powers, and then guides him when he returns.

Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcolm/Fisto – The noteworthy Icelandic star has appeared in shows like Game of Thrones and Vikings, and appears in Masters of the Universe as Duncan’s younger brother, who utilizes metal arms in battle.

Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena – Charlotte Riley has appeared in hit movies like Edge of Tomorrow and London has Fallen, but is perhaps best known for her two-season stint on Peaky Blinders. She plays Adam’s mother, Queen Marlena, who rules Eternia alongside her husband, King Randor. She was taken captive and Prince Adam seeks to rescue her when he returns to Eternia.

Kristen Wiig as Roboto – Legendary comedian Kristen Wiig is known for her time on SNL, but she’s also appeared in films like Bridesmaids and How to Train Your Dragon. Wiig lends her voice to the role of Roboto, a mechanical warrior that was shut down by Man-At-Arms, but that Prince Adam wants to be rearmed to help in his war with Skeletor.

Tom Wilton as Cringer/Battle Cat – Tom Wilton voices Prince Adam’s childhood cat Cringer, who is now a large green cat that Adam calls his Battle Cat. Wilton also voiced roles in Willow, Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, and Doctor Who. Child actor Fletcher Glenn voices a younger Cringer.

Sasheer Zamata as Suzie – Stand-up comic, Sasheer Zamata, had a noteworthy tenure on SNL and voiced a part in 2021’s The Mitchells vs. the Machines. She plays the role of Suzie, Adam’s boss on Earth, who demands that he give up looking for swords at work or she will fire him.

Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops – Up-and-comer Kojo Attah has appeared as various heavies in films like The Beekeeper, and he plays Skeletor’s bounty-hunting henchman, Tri-Klops.

Jon Xue Zhang as Ram-Man – Stunt actor Jon Xue Zhang was in The Eternals and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, and he’s playing King Randor’s hard-headed ally, Ram-Man.

James Wilkinson as Mekaneck – James Wilkinson is a new actor whose only previous role was in the TV show Bergerac. He plays Mekaneck, who is an Eternia hero whose neck expands to use his head and mechanical neck as a weapon.

Christian Vunipola as Hussein – Christian Vunipola is a young actor who has appeared in TV shows like CSI: Vegas and movies like Wildflower. He plays Hussein, Adam’s roommate on Earth, someone who is very touched by romantic movies, and who doesn’t believe in Adam’s childhood history. He is also Adam’s only friend in the movie.

Christiaan Bettridge as Dian – Christiaan Bettridge is an actress who normally works as a stunt double. She was Gal Gadot’s stunt double in Wonder Woman and Uma Thurman’s stunt double in The Old Guard 2. In Masters of the Universe, she used to bully Adam when they were kids, and is now one of Eternia’s powerful warriors.

Sam C. Wilson as Kronis/Trap Jaw – Noted for his minor role on House of the Dragon season 2, Sam C. Wilson plays Skeletor’s cyborg weapons expert, Trap Jaw in Masters of the Universe.

Dolph Lundgren – In a fun cameo appearance, Dolph Lundgren appears as a guy working out at the gym where Adam goes. He then gives Adam some advice on what he should do to find success. Of course, Lundgren played Prince Adam/He-Man in the 1987 Masters of the Universe film.
