LEGO Fan Transforms One Piece’s Kaido into a Poseable Action Figure

A master LEGO builder makes a minifigure-scale Kaido from One Piece with poseable arms and cape to look almost like an action figure. There have been multiple LEGO sets dedicated to the world and characters of One Piece, and even more are coming out later this year. One Piece is filled to the brim with all kinds of characters, creatures, and locations, such as anthropomorphic animals, humans turning into smoke or light themselves, and more. For this reason, it’s not as easy to represent all these characteristics in LEGO sets dedicated to the iconic IP, and at times, fans take matters into their own hands.

Some fan-made builds over the years were praised by the community for their accuracy, and the existing sets became very popular very quickly when they were announced. Now that more LEGO One Piece sets are coming in 2026, featuring battleships, combat scenes, and a large minifigure selection, fans will finally be able to expand their collection. Notably, a character of Kaido’s caliber is missing from the current selection of sets, but fans can try to replicate a MOC (My Own Creation) build to have him as a “poseable action figure.”

Custom LEGO One Piece Kaido Action Figure Build

A MOC designer and expert LEGO builder by the name of lavishlump shared a post on Reddit to showcase their latest build: a colossal minifigure-scale Kaido from One Piece, including poseable arms and cape. Despite being called by lavishlump “minifigure-scale,” the build is pretty big, as Kaido is a massive pirate compared to the Straw Hats. One Piece is no stranger to gigantic characters, and this MOC build of Kaido perfectly encapsulates that size difference.

According to lavishlump, the shoulders on this Kaido build are double-jointed, making them poseable. The build was not easy to design or assemble, lavishlump said in a comment, stating how difficult the cape’s wavy texture was to realize with LEGO’s mixel ball joints, but this means that Kaido’s cloak is also poseable. This complements the arms and shoulders to make the build much more versatile than regular LEGO characters. Kaido’s imposing presence and massive size are both a testament to his role as one of the strongest characters in One Piece.

This is not the first LEGO One Piece build by lavishlump, as they also shared a MOC of Whitebeard, Blackbeard, and Kuma. These are some of the biggest characters in the series, and lavishlump made them as minifigure-scale like they did with Kaido. One Piece‘s Blackbeard is one of the most dangerous villains overall due to his Devil’s Fruit, and he is one of Luffy’s most hated enemies. In lavishlump’s Blackbeard build, the cape is very similar to Kaido’s, showing the builder’s expertise with posable figures has grown even more.

Among the LEGO sets releasing in 2026 for One Piece is one called Dorry vs. Brogy – Giants of Little Garden. This depicts the two giants from One Piece‘s Elbaph arc, and while they are bigger than regular minifigures by a significant margin, they are comparably smaller than lavishlump’s Kaido build. Not only that, but in One Piece, Kaido also has a dragon form that would work wonders in a LEGO set and be even bigger. For now, this remains speculation, and fans who want to replicate lavishlump’s Kaido build will have to wait until the creator uploads the instructions to their Rebrickable profile.
