Jujutsu Kaisen Officially Returns For A Brand-New Adventure

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga may have ended a while back, but the franchise’s day in the sun is far from over. Fans have a lot to look forward to, including the already-announced fourth season of the anime, and another upcoming release has just been added to the pile.

This time, Jujutsu Kaisen is returning to the world of video games. While the 2024 fighting game Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash didn’t go over very well, there’s still a lot of potential for something better. With an acclaimed studio and a totally new genre behind the new title, the odds are looking significantly more favorable.

Revealed in the June 2026 Nintendo Direct, Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton brings the series into the survival action format popularized by Vampire Survivors. Players battle hordes of Jujutsu Kaisen‘s Cursed Spirits in a pixelated, top-down format, leveling up and unlocking abilities as they go.

The big twist of Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton lies in its competitive nature. Unlike Vampire Survivors, which only features co-op multiplayer, Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton lets players add rules to interfere with their competitors as they battle against the hordes for a 15-minute interval. After those 15 minutes, the top two players in the lobby finally go head-to-head to determine the victor.

Jujutsu Kaisen head-to-head

It’s a very unusual choice for an anime tie-in game, but plenty of Jujutsu Kaisen fans are currently feeling bullish about the Rumble: Survivaton experience. Reddit user gandalf_the_cat2018 highlights how many hours they lost to Vampire Survivors, and there’s good reason to believe that the Jujutsu Kaisen riff could be just as addicting. The new game comes courtesy of poncle, the studio behind Vampire Survivors itself, so it’s much more than a half-hearted knock-off.

Reddit user -kodo proposes that Jujutsu Kaisen fans shouldn’t look the gift horse in the mouth, arguing that it’s “the best jjk game we will ever get” and that fans should simply “call it good” after the disappointing Cursed Clash. This vaguely positive sentiment seems to represent a lot of the community’s opinion — while a vampire survivors game wasn’t necessarily what anyone was asking for, it at least seems like it could be fun in its own right.

Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton doesn’t yet have a release date, but the Nintendo Direct trailer established a general 2026 window. As fans stand by for the next season of Jujutsu Kaisen to drop, this could be a great way to idle away some of the wait.
