GTA 6 Digital Price Appears Online, Is Higher Than Average

The upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI in November is arguably the biggest and most highly anticipated in the history of the medium, with the game set to break all kinds of records when it does drop. As such, there are a lot of folks waiting in the wings to buy it, particularly given that we are closer to release than ever before.

That said, we don’t really know that much about it considering how close it’s getting to the big day, from the content of the game to what Rockstar’s plans are for selling the thing. That should all change soon, with many expecting a third trailer and more info on pre-orders in the coming weeks, but if recent revelations are to be believed, it could be a lot pricier than some were hoping for.

GTA 6‘s Jason.

As first reported by Insider Gaming, players have stumbled upon a digital listing on the website Loaded (formerly CDKeys) where GTA VI is listed on the Loaded storefront, with the price set at a fairly staggering £89.99, which would likely translate to $99.99 in the United States. It’s likely just a placeholder for the final thing, but if it does hit that price then there will surely be some who are priced out of the party initially.

It is worth noting though, that they do also have the game listed for the Rockstar Games Launcher on PC for £60.99, and we don’t even know when that version of the game is set to release. Again, it’s important to stress there has been no information from the publisher themselves, and the fact that a PC version is listed lowers the credibility of the console price listing.

Many are expecting GTA VI to serve as the most expensive standard edition of a game in history, and if it retails at $80 dollars then it will almost certainly secure that crown. The fact remains, though, that there are plenty of players willing to pay whatever they have to, and Rockstar knows they have a product where they can almost charge what they want (within reason).

At the time of writing, there remains no concrete information about GTA VI’s intended pricing structure, or when pre-orders for the game will go live. That information will likely arrive alongside the third trailer for the game, so we just have to sit tight and wait for Rockstar to drop that on our heads to hear more.
