Almost two years after FF7 Rebirth released, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 has officially been given a title. As the third, and seemingly final, entry in the FF7 Remake trilogy, hype has understandably been high — even if the volume of news surrounding the game has been fairly low.
As revealed during Summer Game Fest, FF7 Remake Part 3 has been given a trailer alongside an actual title, so it’s not to no longer be using a placeholder. The new game is called Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. And yes, this is the finale, so no part 4 is on the way. In addition to revealing the name, Square Enix also announced the platforms it’ll be launching on.
FF7 Remake Part 3 Finally Has A Name
FF7 Revelation is the finale for a trilogy that’s spanned the 2020s. Ahead of Summer Game Fest 2026, a number of titles had been rumored or allegedly leaked, including FF7 Retribution and FF7 Revenge. However, FF7 Reunion was the clear favorite, especially given how the story will presumably play out.
Of course, that could be different now, since the FF7 Remake Trilogy hasn’t shied away from making big changes in the past. From that notorious Aerith scene to a possible redemption arc for Sephiroth, there’s been a lot of speculation around what exactly we’ll see when the third entry arrives. And while the Summer Game Fest footage didn’t reveal too much in terms of spoilers, we still know quite a bit of what to expect.
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Platforms Confirmed
It’s honestly been a long time coming. The original remake was revealed way back in 2015 at E3, back when E3 was even still a thing. The first game debuted in April 2020. Both FF7 Remake and FF7 Rebirth have now come to Switch 2 and Xbox. Thankfully, it’s been confirmed that FF7 Revelation will launch on all platforms.
While the game is still a ways off, we can thankfully put to rest all that speculation on what Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 will be called. And we’ll most assuredly get additional information as Square Enix drip feeds more details between now and the game’s release. For now, FF7 Revelation looks pretty darn awesome. Its release window is Spring 2027.
