Batman’s daughter, Cassandra Cain, is getting another solo story, and it comes with a brand-new design for the hero inspired by the Joker, of all characters. The past few years have been incredibly kind to Cassandra Cain’s character; after being ignored for the majority of the New 52 and not getting much focus in the Rebirth era, DC gave her both a short-lived team book with Stephanie Brown and a new solo that brought her back to her roots, and they’ve both done wonders to endear the character to old and new fans alike.
Cassandra Cain’s rise in prominence in the 2020s has been great to see, and it’s about to get even bigger thanks to the Absolute Universe. DC has just announced that the Absolute Universe is not only giving Cassandra Cain her own one-shot, Absolute Cassandra Cain: The Shadow’s Hand, but that, unlike in the main universe, this version has an origin tied to the Joker, inspiring a hauntingly dark redesign for her.
